Wow! Bill Maher SLAPS DOWN anti-Israel BDS ‘bulls**t’ with historical FACT!

Bill Maher is one of those on the left that gets a lot right but when he’s right, he absolutely nails it. One of those issues is the ahistorical nature of the anti-Israel BDS movement.

The Hill explains the serious slapdown:

Liberal commentator Bill Maher on Friday night went after the international movement to boycott Israel, calling it a “bullshit purity test” for Democrats after the Israeli government said it would deny entry to two U.S. congresswomen because of their support for the boycotts.

Maher drew applause in studio on his HBO show after declaring the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement supported by some congressional Democrats “a bullshit purity test by people who want to appear woke but actually slept through history class.”

“It’s predicated on this notion, I think — it’s very shallow thinking — that the Jews in Israel, mostly white, and the Palestinians are browner, so they must be innocent and correct, and the Jews must be wrong. As if the occupation came right out of the blue, that this completely peaceful people found themselves occupied,” he said.

I know that a lot of people say that Evangelicals mindlessly support Israel out of some reading of the Bible, but even if that were somewhat true, history and reason and logic are behind this support. Is that a coincidence? I don’t think so. SO many liberals attack good things just because they see that conservatives support them. Thank goodness we don’t do that… hmmm…

  1. Nancy P. put him up to this in order to get control wrestled back to her. Smart girl but still a demoncrat.

  2. Genocide isn’t something done by half measure. No, genocide is an all-or-nothing endeavor.

Israel has been accused of genocide against Arabs for over 50 years.

Now me, I have a LOT of Jewish friends. Not one of hem is a half-measures kind of person. No, they’re overachievers, one and all. Pillars of the community, business owners, philanthropists. Not slackers.

All that to say this: Knowing the Jewish propensity for excellence, if the Jewish state wanted Arabs wiped out of Israel, there wouldn’t be one single Arab in Israel.

  3. Well, BDS is complete BS but I don’t think it’s because of the reasons Maher expressed. I’ve never heard any BDS supporter make it about white vs. brown.

    1. White and Brown are just as much “Bad Tribe” “Good Tribe” as Jew and Muslim are.

And that’s what it’s really about. Which people we’re supposed to be sympathetic toward, on the basis of political correctness.

        1. Yeah, Zimmerman had a white name but looked straight up Hispanic. A quandary for the “press”, so “white Hispanic” had to be thrown around.

  4. “Thank goodness we don’t do that… hmmm…”

Really, what good things do we not support because it comes from progressives? Gun control….abortion….open borders? And who’s we? I know, somehow, Twitter represents the entire conservative base and America in your eyes but it’s simply not the case.

  5. The Jews can’t be too “white” since they’ve often historically infiltrated and mixed with Muslim communities in the area in the course of their duties to protect their people and root out terrorist cells. Both Jews and Arabs are from the same genetic root stock.

  6. You bet it’s going to be a major problem for the Democrat party, because Jews have historically voted Democrat. Now? Who knows? I say we give California to the Jews so they can leave and let the middle east blow each other to kingdom come.

    1. That could work…except it’s not their land. You listen to their national anthem, to practically any of their religious songs, poetry and the like it is all about thier yearning to be back in their homeland. To be back in Jerusalem. The Jews sang about next year in Jerusalem on their way to the gas chambers in the concentration camps. It may not be a whole lot of land but it’s theirs, their ancestors are buried there, their history is rooted there, their religion, their culture. It is their home. That is something that just can’t be replaced.

  7. It’s anti-Semitism dressed up in fake principles. The only western democracy and reliable ally in the area, they’re the problem? The KKK and NAZIS would be proud. I loathe these hypocritical phonies.

  8. I as an evangelical, support them not only because the bible promises us God’s blessings if we do, but also because Jews are one of the most persecuted people on earth simply because they are Gods’ chosen people, and also because they live in a dry desert-like area the size of NJ and it absolutely drives the muslims mental- the muslims who own 1000’s and 1000’s of miles of land ALL AROUND Israel- they can’t stand the fact that Israel is allowed to live- anywhere- I support Israel because of the obvious Demonic hatred and persecution they have had to endure all their lives-

      1. not following your logic here- I’m a heretic because I support God’s people? If so- alrighty then- moving on- oops- just read your next comment- Wow- whatever fella!

  9. White vs. Colored is so rooted in their collective ideology they see racism everywhere. The media is on board too.

  10. I support Israel because the God of all said to. I also support them because of their history. I support Israel because they are in the right on the matter of their homeland. I hope and pray they never give up a grain of sand over there ever again. There is no palistein, there never was. If they want land for a country, let their arab brothers give it to them out of their own soil.

  11. The Dems’ hatred for Jews and Israel is what will do them in. God was very clear in Gen. 12: 3……..if you bless Israel you will be blessed……..if you don’t you’ve cursed yourself. Thankfully, we now have a president who blesses Israel.

      1. As Mark Levin explains, for many Jews, leftism is their religion. They’re much more willing to believe the dogma of their political party than anything else.

The NYT has always been owned by Jews, yet they covered up the Holocaust.

    1. Well all you have to do is look at what the Dems stand for to know they’re the party of the Devil, and we know how he feels about Israel. No wonder his moronic minions happily march along to the ant-Israel tune.

  12. In addition to Biblical reasons, I support Israel and the Jewish people who have created an equitable government in their homeland though they are still persecuted mightily. We must not forget that their rabid neighbors respect no other religion, but the world still blames the Jewish people.
“First the Saturday people then the Sunday people” is a book written by a woman who lived in Israel for many years. The title is self explanatory.

  13. I was nominally supportive of Israel as a young man, just because of basic fairness. You could see back in the 1960s that Israel never did anything to deserve the constant attacks and threats. And of course, that has remained constant.

In the 1990s I decided to study the history of the region, and realized that almost every single popular statement about Israel by the left was completely inaccurate.

For years the American public had been gaslighted by activists within media who hated Israel. But until 2000, we had no idea how prevalent the phony pictures and video were. Then the New York Times kicked the whole problem up to another level when they joined in the publishing of the hoax photo claiming an IDF soldier beat a “Palestinian” boy.

    This article came out…
HonestReporting: The Photo that Started it All

We had no term for this level of manipulation until Richard Landes coined the term ‘Pallywood’ in his 2005 film called Pallywood: According to Palestinian Sources.

We are only now beginning to catch up to the amount of effort it takes to counter this willful anti-Israel collusion by Western media with hoaxing “Pallywood” lies.

So while I strongly dislike most of Maher’s body of work, this is one time I’m glad to see him come down on the side of historical accuracy.

    1. to go along with your concerns:
“Mainstream media silent on disturbing org behind Ilhan Omar’s, Rashida Tlaib’s trip to ‘Palestine'”
“The mainstream media’s silence about Miftah, the organization behind
Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib’s since-cancelled trip to Israel, has
      been deafening.

Miftah, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed was funding their trip, is an extremely anti-Semitic Palestinian advocacy group with ties to Palestinian terrorism.”

    2. My **ONLY** real gripe with Israel (it’s government, not it’s people) is that they don’t take the necessary steps to eliminate their enemies. They cede areas, neighborhoods (like Gaza), to Arab Muslim extremists who then use those areas to launch terrorist attacks against Jews while subjecting Arabs to crushing poverty and tyranny. What they should be doing is kicking the foreign imams and clerics out of Israel, and arresting, jailing, and/or killing those Israeli Arabs who foment violent attacks.

Stop coddling the Muslims. Kick their asses, and don’t ever look back.

  14. While I loathe Maher he does make a good point now and then. But a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while too.

  15. Those numbers of the drop of Jewish people in the several countries in the middle east are mind boggling. Spread the word.

  16. “People don’t understand history anymore.”

It doesn’t help that folks keep rewriting it, plastering it on headlines full full and accurate expectation that nobody will verify anything, and then issuing “corrections” a few weeks later that nobody will see or hear.

  17. I am shocked at the European boycotts, it’s like the whole Hitler thing didn’t happen for them… first chance to persecute Jews, they take it. Very scary.

    1. It’d be funny if it wasn’t so sad. It’s like bad reverse psychology in a Bugs Bunny cartoon. All it took was relabeling the Jews as Nazi’s and they are ripe for persecution again. The ignorance of people is astonishing.

      1. What’s really sad is that so many Jews have and will vote democrat. It’s like the blacks that don’t seem to recall what is the party of racism. Very sad, so unenlightened.

  18. Something that a lot of people don’t realize is that the “Palestinians” and the Israelis have the same ethnic roots.

    1. That’s true, Doc…here’s what some people don’t realize that the Palestinians are/were referred to in the Bible as “Philistines” (same people, different names…synonymously).

      1. The Philistines as a distinct ethnic people don’t exist anymore. They were absorbed into other ethnic groups, but the word Palestinian is based off them. Long story short, Emperor Hadrian renamed the land of Judea as Philistia after the the Philistines, which became known as Palestine. This was the name of the land, not a people. There was never a distinct ethnic people known as Palestinians, they are simply Arabs. People only started calling them that after Yasser Arafat started calling them that.

Jews and Arabs no doubt share DNA. Abraham had other sons besides Isaac and Ishmael, and those sons had sons and so on. And even during Old Testament times there was a lot of intermingling between neighboring ethnic groups, even if was technically forbidden.

  19. And just like that sensible Bill is out the window:

Bill Maher Hopes For Recession A Third Time: ‘Very Worth It’ To Beat Trump

“I’m just saying we can survive a recession.”

  20. Occupied land??? Arabs started 3 Arab-Israeli wars and lost all three leaving Israel with the West Bank. Then the West Bank officially became a part of Israel when Jorden disclaimed it. Jews have occupied that land for 4,500 years, Palestinians, less than half that. Palestinians/ Hamas terrorists are the occupiers.

  21. Every once in a while, Bill takes his TDS pill and makes sense… its effect doesn’t last long though.

  22. I’ve actually have gained a great deal of respect for Bill Maher particularly over the last 2 years or so. I obviously disagree vehemently with him on a great deal but you’ve got to admit that of all the mainstream lefties he is most consistent at standing up against the left when he thinks they go too far and he does so aggressively without mincing words. That is incredibly rare coming from the left wing media.

  23. Do we have a Democratic party? The opposition I see now to the Republican party, is the Communist Party.
