Former Congress-dude Jason Chaffetz wants Jeff Sessions to step down, saying that he’s just not up to the job, and getting rid of him would clean up the DOJ.
Here’s more from Fox News:
Fox News contributor and former House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz called for the departure of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Chaffetz said removing Sessions may fix the “deep systemic problems” within the Department of Justice.
“It pains me to say this a little bit [but] I don’t think the attorney general is up to the job he’s doing,” Chaffetz said.
He criticized Sessions for not taking a more active role in rooting out recent subjects of controversy at the DOJ, including FBI Agent Peter Strzok.
Chaffetz said the only reason Strzok’s former supervisor, Robert Mueller, is leading a special investigation is because Sessions “had to recuse himself from everything” involving the president.
This is surprising. And of course they’re pushing some conspiracy theory that the “deep state” is extorting Sessions.
Sessions barely survived the last round of right-wingers trying to get rid of him. If Chaffetz starts up another round of criticism, will Sessions get canned?
