“Under Donald Trump the economy, pre-COVID, boomed, like no time since the 1950s. Look at your 401(k) over the past three years,” says the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette editorial endorsing President Donald Trump for reelection. That is a profoundly strong case standing alone, but it’s not the only piece of the puzzle they put together in this editorial.
It is the first time in 40 years this paper has made such an endorsement! But the editors felt it was critical to do so, despite any misgivings, because of what is at stake. They tweeted their endorsement on Sunday Morning and you can imagine the rest of the media and the left are going out of their minds flipping out about it.
This newspaper has not supported a Republican for president since 1972. But we believe President Trump, for all his faults, is the better choice this year.

And then McEnany touted it, which drove them even further to madness.
First time in nearly 40 YEARS…
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette endorses a Republican – President @realDonaldTrump‼️

It’s a good thing. It’s not a glowing endorsement, of course. In fact if you’re a True MAGA believer in the trenches don’t even read it. You’ll hate it. But it’s not FOR you.
It’s about what is at stake here, and that’s important. You can’t make everyone love the man, and that’s fine. You want them to VOTE for him, because those stakes are so high. Because of the economy and the burning cities and the other myriad reasons that Biden and the progressive left getting their hands on power would be an immeasurable disaster. A disaster so enormous in scale and far-reaching in implications we can’t really say how bad the outcome would be. The end of America as we think of it and have thought of it since its founding? That may be the case, and it is LITERALLY what the left says is their stated goal. They spell that out, it’s not hyperbole or right wing fear. That’s what THEY SAY they are going to do. i
So yeah, it’s not a glowing endorsement. It lists all his faults. Because we need the people who see and hate those faults to vote for him anyway. They don’t need to love him. You don’t need to love them. All you need is to be on the same side in the voting booth.
So it’s a dang important endorsement. Awesome, even.
