Rep. Brian Mast asked a simple question on the floor of the House today during the impeachment charade. And for that question, CNN’s Jake Tapper USED the fact that he lost his legs fighting on America’s behalf AGAINST him to score a cheap point.
Tapper has been increasingly unhinged lately (say, oh, about 4 years) and the pace of unhinging escalated dramatically from election day. And then even more so in the last week. His Twitter reads like a standard issue Resistance clod, not a serious news person. Not a serious person at all, actually.
And he brought his hysterics to the air today over the impeachment fiasco. Rep. Mast lost his legs to an IED while serving in the Army, clearing explosives for the Army Rangers in Kandahar. That is about as heroic as it gets. And now he serves in Congress. He had a question for the House impeachment party: “Has any one of those individuals who brought violence on this Capitol been brought here to answer whether they did that because of our president?”
He did not get an answer. But his temerity in asking got civilian Jake Tapper’s snideness into overdrive.
“Congressman Brian Mast – who lost his legs, by the way, fighting for democracy abroad, although I don’t know — about his commitment to it here in the United States – he said, ‘Did anybody say that?'” said Tapper. Yeah, we heard em!”
Who he heard say that I don’t know. But I know who we all heard trash a wounded war veteran as not being committed to democratic values. It was you, Jake.
Absolutely disgusting. Shameful.
