WOW, this Gold Star Mom’s powerful Fourth of July speech should break Colin Kaepernick’s heart

There may have been a time when Kaepernick believed in something. He may have thought that there was a real problem with police and minorities, with brutality or injustice. He may even have thought kneeling would help America. But y’all, that time is long past if it ever even happened. Colin is now mogul of a wokeness empire and business is great. He’s a millionaire, he gets his name in lights all the time, and he barely has to lift a finger, permanent damage to America be damned.

But there are other people in America who don’t get fame and fortune for being bratty, overgrown children throwing tantrums periodically to stay in the news. They may earn less, but they’re worth a hell of a lot more. And the mother of one of them, a young man who died for this country and its flags, well she had her own piece to say on the Fourth of July.

Everyone in America is forced by our culture to listen to every little itch Colin Kaepernick wants scratched. There should be a bigger part of that audience that at least hears what this mother has to say in response.

If Kaepernick actually had guts, he’d share the video himself. But don’t you count on it. He’s not accountable to the people he lords his opinions over.

Take a listen, now, as Amanda Jacobs talk about her son, Lance Cpl. Christopher Phoenix-Jacob Levy, who was killed in Afghanistan.

Her words matter, too. Her feelings matter, what offends her matters. Her pain matters.

She and her son matter, even though she’s not rich and privileged like Kaepernick. Or at least that’s how it SHOULD be.

“Colin Kaepernick was getting paid $14 million dollars a year to throw a ball. “My son died for $14,000 a year and he’s given more than any football player, any athlete, has ever given.”

That should break his heart. It breaks mine. If he had any integrity he’d share her words. But we all know he won’t. You can, though.

She should be heard. Help her.
