According to the Wall Street Journal, lawyers for el Trumpo are offering to exchange his interview, which Mueller has been seeking, for an agreement that the investigation into Russian collusion and election interference will be ENDED.
Attorneys for President Trump are reportedly considering asking special counsel Robert Mueller to set a hard end date for his investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election as one of the preconditions for an interview with president.
While Trump’s lawyers remain split on the terms of such a deal, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday, they also want Mueller to agree to parameters on the scope of such an interview.
One idea being floated is that Mueller would agree to wrap up the probe within 60 days of interviewing Trump.
Conversations between Mueller and Trump’s attorneys are reportedly only just beginning.
Wow. I just don’t see this happening at all. And I’m not the only one:
Trump lawyers just stalling. This makes no sense–suppose Trump says something that requires 61 days to investigate? No serious prosecutor would agree to this, and Mueller is a very serious prosecutor. Ultimately, he has the leverage–can just serve grand jury subpoena, & should. https://t.co/s2dR5XDVM7

Another ridiculous proposal by Trump's lawyers. A prosecutor's job is to gather evidence and pursue justice, not to artificially cut short an investigation due to demands from defense counsel. If Mueller agreed to this demand, he wouldn't be doing his job. https://t.co/uU84rHl0cp

Trump’s lawyers trying to limit scope and timeline of the Mueller probe in exchange for testimony. Can’t see why Mueller would agree. https://t.co/CLTuv7t5W0

Yeah, these are all Trump-haters, but the reasoning is sound. Why would Mueller end the investigation just because he got an interview with Trump? If he takes this deal, it pretty much means he has nothing on the president. Which is why so many Trump critics want to believe he won’t take the deal…
