There was an epic meltdown last night over the dumbest thing – tweets! D.C. McCallister, who is now known for inspiring the “you were at my wedding, Denise” meme, says her first amendment right to free speech is meaningless unless she can insult gay journalists.
Here’s what happened:
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1111791813634023424Odd, but not insane, right? Well anyway a bunch of feminists attacked her for being so subservient, or something. And she came after them TEN TIMES AS HARD.
But then well-known Huffpo journalist Yashar Ali offered a tiny bit of criticism:
“He’s right. I slipped.”

And then cameth the meltdown:

Bet you didn’t know that.
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112176722735218689Oh. Boy.
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112178850316857346Bro, it’s Saturday. Get some chill.
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112181805183057920 https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112187447595753472FREE SPEECH IS DEAD unless D.C. McAllister can mock gay males in a really gross way, which is exactly what the founders intended, people!!!
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112191723244085248Bigotry!!
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112193671544426496Lady, they’re tweets. They’re not the Declaration of Independence.
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112194538196606976This is kind of the entire problem with twitter. Everything is either one way or the other, but a MILLION percent. Yashar’s tweet can’t simply be a mild critique, it HAS TO BE AN INSULT TO ALL OF MASCULINITY. I can’t be allowed to disagree in peace, I HAVE TO TWEET VICIOUS INSULTS OR I AM COMPLICIT. Can ya’ll just tone it down a little?
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112199132981141504Don’t do it, Denice, there are so many weddings to go to!!!
Oh wait:
In response to your many inquiries, we've spoken and Denise McAllister will not be writing for us at The Federalist any more.

Oooooh. Wow.
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112201587869577217 https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112221781052608512 https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112231858903965696Wait, so did you quit or were you fired? Either way I am one MILLION percent enraged! Just tell me where to point my rage dammit!!
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112237320592347137GOD will judge you for not retweeting McAllister!! I read it in the Bible. I did.
Remember kids, twitter is stupid and meaningless. Until you say something you can get fired over.
UPDATE!!
McAllister did the right thing and apologized after deleting the tweet:
https://twitter.com/McAllisterDen/status/1112414636442308608Kind of odd after invoking God and principles and everything, but at least she recognizes her error. Good for her.
SO if you’re wondering why some tweets don’t show up in tweet form but just in text, that’s why. She deleted them. It’s interesting to note which ones she deleted and which ones she didn’t….
