You really should watch this interview with Jim Brown

After watching this interview I gotta say, it is really a breath of fresh air. It’s not what I expected to hear at all.

Watch:

What really got me was when Brown was asked if Trump was ‘producing’ for the black community. He immediately explained that it’s not just Trump’s job to produce for the black community, that the black community has a responsibility to produce for itself and they are not doing it.

In fact he put some of the blame on himself, saying he could give more money and travel to more events.

It strikes me that he is far more the embodiment of that famous quote from Kennedy: “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”

And he’s so balanced about the issues so many struggle with today. He doesn’t hate white people. Rather he says that many white people gave their lives so black people could be free in this country. He even credits white people with his own successes in football, pointing out they come to the games to make it all happen.

What a great guy! He loves his country and all the people in it and he refuses to support denigrating the flag or the National Anthem with these protests. He’s all around a great American and I’m glad he has Trump’s ear.

Listening to Brown really puts the mess of our culture into focus. You don’t hear many voices like Brown’s anymore. It’s so often a victim mentality of ‘what can the world do for me’ and how it must be torn down if it’s not working for me. And it tells me that we are about to lose something amazing with Brown’s generation, something we’ll never get back with the way our culture is heading.

And that is a pretty sad state of affairs.
