Well that was quick. Business Insider is reporting this morning that Melissa Harris-Perry has now apologized to the Romney family:
When The Right Scoop first took note of the panel’s comments on Monday, it caused an uproar.
Early Tuesday morning, Harris-Perry tweeted an apology. She noted that she comes from a mixed-race family, and that she felt “familiarity” with the photograph.
I am sorry. Without reservation or qualification. I apologize to the Romney family. #MHPapology

I apologize to all families built on loving transracial adoptions who feel I degraded their lives or choices. #MHPapology

I appreciate her sincere apology on twitter and I hope she also issues one on her show this weekend.
So score another one for new media, specifically our own Caleb Howe, whose post on this did indeed cause an uproar yesterday and even managed to get the attention of Fox News and CNN as they both ran segments on this.
