This weekend CNN dumped Rick Santorum for comments he made last month that CNN viewers claimed were ‘racist’. We covered his defense of those comments here in case you want to go back check it out.
From Daily Wire:
CNN has ended its contract with conservative commentator Rick Santorum after the former senator said America’s Founding Fathers “birthed a nation from nothing,” the network confirmed on Saturday.
The two-time GOP presidential candidate angered the network’s viewers with comments he made to Young America’s Foundation on April 23.
When the Pilgrims arrived in 1620, “There was nothing here,” he said. “Yes, we have Native Americans, but candidly there isn’t much Native American culture in American culture.” The Founding Fathers “came here, mostly from Europe, and they set up a country that was based on Judeo-Christian principles,” Santorum said.
HuffPost broke the news of Santorum’s termination on Saturday afternoon, scooping CNN on its own story by nearly three hours.
A “CNN senior executive,” who spoke on condition of anonymity, told HuffPost that “None of the anchors wanted to book him, so he was essentially benched, anyway.”
Santorum responded to his firing this way:
When I signed on with CNN, I understood I would be providing commentary that is not regularly heard by the typical CNN viewer. I appreciate the opportunity CNN provided me over the past 4 years. I am committed to continuing the fight for our conservative principles and values.

Today on Outnumbered Joe Concha laid out the laundry list of offenses by Chris Cuomo who, in cahoots with this gov brother, the network lets get away with anything:
Concha starts out this way: “So Chris Cuomo is fiercely loyal to his family. Okay. Go work for your brother then – you already do already. Might as well get paid for that aspect. That’s what’s unbelievable about this, right? Or go work for the DNC or run for office yourself – there’s a mayor’s race that’s gonna be coming up soon. Because he is not an anchor. Chris Cuomo is not. He is an activist.”
He then goes through the laundry list of ethical violations, of which Concha says Cuomo is getting criticism from the left too. From getting COVID testing before anyone else could in NY; to running a PR campaign for his brother using his show and NEVER mentioning all the dead his brother left behind in nursing homes; to faking his own quarantine and getting caught by a New Yorker; to coaching Michael Cohen on what to say during a CNN interview; to now giving his brother advice on how to get around sexual assault allegations.
Wow what a list! Concha then adds “If you are a woman and you appear on that show, shame on you. Because this is not somebody who believes all women as he so piously said over the last year and a half.”
But hey, Santorum said something true that triggered a bunch of nutty CNN viewers and at least one host. So gotta cancel him…
