Hollywood is losing its collective mind over cartoons from the past and Disney+ is leading the way by banning Dumbo, Peter Pan, and another older cartoon from children’s profiles because they are racist or something:
DC EXAMINER – Disney+ removed several movies, including Dumbo and Peter Pan, from children’s profiles over stereotypes deemed offensive.
The move comes after Disney placed warnings on certain children’s movies for “negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people and cultures.”
Children under the age of 7 will now no longer be able to watch the movies, including Swiss Family Robinson and The Aristocats. Adults with Disney+ accounts will still be able to watch the movies.
Disney explained why the movies were pulled, saying in the case of Dumbo: “The crows and musical number pay homage to racist minstrel shows, where white performers with blackened faces and tattered clothing imitated and ridiculed enslaved Africans on Southern plantations. The leader of the group in Dumbo is Jim Crow, which shares the name of laws that enforced racial segregation in the Southern United States.”
Peter Pan was pulled because “the film portrays Native people in a stereotypical manner that reflects neither the diversity of Native peoples nor their authentic cultural traditions. It shows them speaking in an unintelligible language and repeatedly refers to them as ‘redskins,’ an offensive term. Peter and the Lost Boys engage in dancing, wearing headdresses and other exaggerated tropes.”
The Aristocats will no longer be available to children because “the (Siamese) cat (Shun Gon) is depicted as a racist caricature of East Asian peoples with exaggerated stereotypical traits such as slanted eyes and buck teeth.”
Disney has clearly bought into the idea that watching these shows will make kids racist, which is something akin to what educators are teaching in states like Arizona. In the Grand Canyon state liberals are now teaching that white babies will grow up racist by default unless parents teach them not to be racist.
By banning children and not adults from watching these innocent cartoons, Disney must believe that they are doing their part to prevent children from becoming racist. Why else would they make this ridiculous change?
Just so you know, this is what we are talking about with respect to Dumbo:
This seems absurd to me. These aren’t white actors in the video above, which is what happened in minstrel shows. The people voicing the crows are from the Hall Johnson Choir, a black choir. Is Disney accusing these black singers of racism? Because it kinda sounds that way to me.
Our culture is rotting from the inside out as liberals see racism around every corner. This kind of censorship is dangerously divisive and where it ends I don’t know, but it won’t be a good place.
