Gov. Kristi Noem CAVES, does NOT sign trans sports bill, tries to explain on Twitter, gets DRAGGED

Well she didn’t sign it. Scoop reported earlier that there were signs Gov. Kristi Noem was wavering on signing a bill designed to ban biological men (aka men) from competing in women’s sports (aka for women), and in fact she wavered all the way to sending it back to the state legislature.

She went to Twitter to try to explain her rationale for not signing it, saying this or that about style or something. It didn’t go well.

Sean Davis’ reaction is pretty standard of the results.

“Embarrassing” and “Pathetic.” Yikes.

Her thread is LONG. Here’s the first few tweets.

We’ll interrupt here for a second because that is just the perfect example of dissembling. She’s calling a school collecting forms from kids an “unworkable burden?” Come on, Gov, you ever heard of field trips? Even Harry Potter had to produce documents at some point. Is voter ID an “unworkable administrative burden”? Please.

Davis also noticed that bit.

The thread goes on. And on. And ON.

Pausing again to point out that she’s basically saying WE CAN’T MAKE OUR OWN DECISION HERE IN OUR OWN STATE AND WE’VE GOT TO DO WHAT THE CULTURE DICTATES IN ORDER TO GET ALONG WITH EVERYONE.

Style and Form.

She says a lot of things here when it comes to voicing her support for the PREMISE. She’s not backing off being SEEN as against men competing in women’s sports. She’s fine with that perception.

BUT she didn’t it. She sent it back. Where it will probably die. And it’s over things that were easy to address and fix in administrative ways after the fact. And even if it makes it back to her desk, the proposed “style” changes essentially gut it as having the weight of law and enforcement of rules.

In short, she all but killed it. And she won’t even get the benefits of pandering to the wokes, who she still said are wrong. So what the heck was the point of all this?
