We are hearing more and more from hard left Democrats on just how they feel about voting for Biden:
FOX NEWS – Former Bernie Sanders campaign co-chair Nina Turner offered a not-so-appetizing analogy when asked about voting for presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
Turner, who was a prominent surrogate for Sen. Sanders, I-Vt., during the 2020 Democratic primary, expressed her lack of excitement for the former VP to The Atlantic.
“It’s like saying to somebody, ‘You have a bowl of sh– in front of you, and all you’ve got to do is eat half of it instead of the whole thing.’ It’s still sh–,” Turner described to Atlantic staff writer Peter Nicholas.
Harvard University professor Cornel West, who also supported Sanders during the primary, had a similar stance in the article.
“We have to be true to ourselves and acknowledge that Biden is a mediocre, milquetoast, neoliberal centrist that we’ve been fighting against in the Democratic establishment,” West said.
It’s become crystal clear that the biggest thing that will bring Biden voters is their hatred for Trump. And that’s nothing to mock either, because that can be a big motivator.
We also heard a similar sentiment from Charlamange last week, when he said:
“I really wish Joe Biden would shut the eff up forever and continue to act like he’s starring in the movie A Quiet Place because as soon as he opens his mouth and makes noise, he gets us all killed, OK?” the radio host said. “There’s already so many people who are reluctantly only voting for Joe Biden because he’s the only option and because Donald J. Trump is that trash.”
In 2008 Democrats thought they’d won the lottery with Obama. But watching the way some of them are reacting to Biden gives me hope for November. They really wanted Sanders and he got the shaft again. I expect Trump will be harping on this in the coming months to see if he make reluctant Biden supporters stay home.
And while the anti-Trump sentiment is surely something Team Trump shouldn’t underestimate, I will note that even though Democrats came ‘close’ to beating Cruz in 2018 in Texas, at that time Democrats thought Beto was the next Obama. Nobody views Biden like that – not even remotely. So I’m really not sure if the anti-Trump fervor is enough.
But on the flip side it’s a presidential election year, which means higher turnouts around the country. Either way, Trump needs to plan as though he’s losing and coming from behind because November is going to be a tough win if he can pull it out.
