The media is reporting that Trump was able to topple a GOP plan to gut an ethics panel in the House by sending two tweets criticizing the move this morning.
Well left-wing troll nuts are whining and throwing a tantrum because they think their tweets forced the GOP, not Trump’s.
Sup on liberal tears my friends:
Media pundits will credit Trump 4 Repubs backing down but he only questioned their timing & ONLY after the public flooded their switchboard

Amazingly, the OCE outcome is the direct result of quality journalism, yet journalists are falling over themselves to hand credit to Trump.

Trump didn't make the house fold on House Ethics.
YOU did that.
Next up, defending Obamacare.#Resist— Steve Marmel (@Marmel) January 3, 2017
This is what actually happened, and many of you know that because YOU PARTICIPATED IN IT while we journos OBSERVED IT HAPPENING. https://t.co/zqMtPDGDgd

Thousands jammed Congressional phone lines, outraged about ethics amendment@AP @nytimes @cnn don't even mention this, give credit to Trump
— igorvolsky (@igorvolsky) January 3, 2017
The pattern holds. The media ignores the public outcry that it witnessed with its own eyes -ON TWITTER- and rushes to credit Trump's tweet. https://t.co/lD9MR3aQvh

The Office of Congressional ethics was rescued by a barrage of citizen phone calls, not a couple Trump tweets. https://t.co/U3ixcRO6iK

I wonder whether the calls flooding @HouseGOP phone lines had more to do with their reversal on ethics than Trump critiquing their timing.
— Jamil Smith (@JamilSmith) January 3, 2017
The @AP claims Trump stopped #ethics change, never mentions voters who left angry messages for reps.
I say we leave angry messages for @AP.

Congress: Let's beat up an old lady
Trump: That shouldn't be a top priority

Firestorm started last night, Hill GOP offices deluged with calls. Trump tweets late to game. More examples of journos praising Trumps role?
— Josh Marshall (@joshtpm) January 3, 2017
This is why the House backed off. Not because donald trump tweeted some half-assed nonsense.#Resist #ResistTrump https://t.co/0vK38NbEjA

If they’re right, then it was pretty smart of Trump to join the chorus and take the credit, right? It’s worth pointing out that Paul Ryan opposed the changes too – he wanted to get bipartisan support for the reforms. But liberals will whine away even when they get what they want!!
UPDATE: CNN is reporting that Trump indeed deserves the credit for shutting down the GOP plan for the ethics office.
Does Trump deserve credit for House GOP leaders pulling proposal to gut independent ethics panel? @mkraju reports. https://t.co/ChjgGHTegJ
