Mitt Romney STANDS UP… against Justin Amash’s call for impeachment!

Those liberals who were hoping that Mitt Romney would be the Republican leader of the resistance against Trump were probably very disappointed with what he said today.

That’s because he made a principled stand AGAINST Rep. Justin Amash’s call for impeachment of Trump.

Watch below:

From Politico:

Speaking to CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union,” Romney said, “My own view is that Justin Amash has reached a different conclusion than I have.

“I respect him. I think it’s a courageous statement,” the Utah Republican continued. “But I believe that to make a case for obstruction of justice, you just don’t have the elements that are evidenced in this document.”

His reasoning is interesting:

“I don’t think impeachment is the right way to go,” Romney said.

“The American people just aren’t there,” the Utah Republican said. “And I think those who are considering impeachment also have to look at the jury, which would be the Senate. The Senate is certainly not there either.”

He doesn’t say that Trump is innocent, he just says that there isn’t support in the public for it. And that’s kind of a cop out if you think Trump is guilty. But, whatever the reason, Amash won’t get support from the ostensibly anti-Trump Romney….
