Earlier we told you that the New York State Senate had passed a bill so they could give Trump’s tax returns to Congress. Well now that bill has passed the legislature and is heading to Cuomo’s desk to sign:
NY POST – The tax filings of President Trump and all public elected officials in New York will be fair game for congressional Democrats under a new law.
The state Legislature Wednesday approved a bill that allows the state Department of Taxation and Finance to release tax returns of thousands of New Yorkers upon the official request by Congress.
Gov. Cuomo previously said would support the idea.
The newest iteration of the bill passed the Assembly in an 85 to 49 vote, and 31 to 21 in the state Senate.
An official request from the House Ways and Means, Senate Finance Committee and the Joint Committee on Taxation must be made in order to obtain Trump’s state tax return.
This isn’t about “all public officials” in New York. This is about Trump.
This is presidential harassment by Democrats in the State of New York helping Democrats in Washington fish for anything they can find to destroy Trump in the election next year. Or find ‘grounds’ to begin impeachment proceedings. It’s disgusting.
And of course Cuomo is going to sign it. He’d never risk his entire political career over a bill designed to help Democrats take out Trump.
If Obama’s crack IRS team could not find fault with Trump’s taxes for 8 full years, why do the Democrats think they can dig up dirt now?
This only backfires on Obama.
Even if Democrat hot heads finally find a way to get rid of Trump, they can never get rid of the backlash against them in 2020.

Seems like an ex post facto law, which is prohibited by the Constitution, if it applies to people who have already been elected to office and are now being targeted.
Regardless of whether it’s unconstitutional, though, the potential for politicized investigations is obvious. And given that it’s the heavily Democratic New York State, we can be sure the law would not be applied evenly, but only to Republicans.
What happened to federalism? Isn’t there a federal law that would have supremacy over this law? If not, pass one! Article six of the constitution.

If wealthy people in New York State want privacy about their income they will just have to move out.
