Dayna Morales is the server who posted the photo online of a receipt she claimed she received from a customer who refused to tip her because she was gay.

Since posting her story last month, several of the details have come into question, not least of which is that the couple who was being accused came forward with their credit card statement showing that they had, in fact, tipped Morales. The restaurant launched an internal investigation, during which both the couple and the server maintained their version of events. On Saturday, the restaurant announced that Morales will no longer be working there. Via Mediaite, here is the restaurant’s Facebook post.
After the story went viral, a PayPal account in Morales’ name began collecting donations from individuals who were outraged by the lifestyle snub and wanted to make up for the lost tip. NBC has confirmed that some of those donations are now being refunded.
As yet, Morales admits no wrong-doing. However, with the couple in question able to prove their side of the story, and with her “mutual” break-up with the restaurant, it is hard to imagine that this is anything but another example of what Greg Gutfeld referred to as the “hoax factory” in full swing.
