Last night after the debate, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos made the ridiculous accusation that Mike Pence was ‘mansplaining’ to Kamala Harris during the debate:

“But I think a lot of people were noticing some mansplaining going on tonight.” And by ‘a lot of people’, he means him.
But thankfully the female newsers on ABC were more rational and didn’t see it that way at all. Sara Fagen was the woman at the end of the clip who didn’t agree, and here’s what she said in full:
“I don’t know. I didn’t see it that way, George. I didn’t come across to me,” Fagen responded. “I do think that he should have stopped talking a little quicker, but I don’t think he was disrespectful of either woman.”
She’s absolutely right. There was not a time in that debate where Pence was disrespectful. He was tough, but not disrespectful.
Martha Raddatz also responded to the absurd claim of mansplaining:
"Kamala Harris is a vice presidential candidate. She should be able to stand up for herself. A man can interrupt another vice presidential candidate."

Here’s what she said just after the 30 second mark:
“When I hear people say- talk about mansplaining and talk about these things with Kamala Harris and ‘a man shouldn’t interrupt her and it’s going to look bad’… Kamala Harris is a vice-presidential candidate. She should be able to stand up for herself,” Raddatz told Stephanopoulos. “Yes, it’s history-making. Yes, you can talk about her history and who she is and she’s a woman of color there but a man can interrupt another vice presidential candidate. It is up to that candidate to talk back, to interrupt themselves, or to hold on to that debate in any way they could.”
I’m very glad Stephanopoulos got pushback from these women on ABC. Kudos to them for not going all-in on Kamala being a victim because she’s a woman.
