Fauci admitted this morning that he wears a mask indoors for theater purposes, so that he doesn’t look like he’s sending mixed messages or something:
Dr. Fauci admits his wearing masks indoors despite being vaccinated was based on imagery, not science:
"I didn’t want to look like I was giving mixed signals but being a fully vaccinated person, the chances of my getting infected in an indoor setting is extremely low." pic.twitter.com/UdJdhHvoR0

Here’s what Fauci told George Stephanopoulos this morning when asked how the new guidelines has changed his own mask wearing practices:
“I am now much more comfortable with people seeing me indoors without a mask. Before the CDC made the recommendation change, I didn’t want to look like I was giving mixed signals. But being a fully vaccinated person, the chances of my getting infected in an indoor setting is extremely low. And that’s the reason why in indoor settings now, I feel comfortable about not wearing a mask…”
As someone deftly pointed out on Twitter, a vaccinated person wearing a mask is the very definition of sending mixed signals. And they are absolutely correct, which is the exact point Rand Paul has been trying to make for months. Paul has accused Fauci of ignoring the science and pushing theater with his mask wearing and advice to vaccinated people regarding masks, and Fauci has continually denied this. Now he’s finally admitting that Paul was right, that he has been wearing one for show.
It’s no wonder so many don’t like him at this point.
