The Washington Post has a story out alleging that Trump tried to get Bill Barr to publicly defend his July 25th phone call in a press conference, declaring there was nothing illegal. But they report, via an anonymous source, that Barr turned him down.
But Trump says that’s just not true:
Bill Barr did not decline my request to talk about Ukraine. The story was a Fake Washington Post con job with an “anonymous” source that doesn’t exist. Just read the Transcript. The Justice Department already ruled that the call was good. We don’t have freedom of the press!

After Trump tweeted this, reports were written saying Trump didn’t deny a key part of the accusation, that he asked Barr about to do it:
The Post reports that Barr decided not to hold the presser. But Trump tweeted Thursday morning that “Bill Barr did not decline my request to talk about Ukraine” — disputing Barr’s reported refusal while appearing to acknowledge that he did ask Barr to discuss Ukraine publicly.
So, Trump tweeted again, saying the complete story is a fabrication:
The degenerate Washington Post MADE UP the story about me asking Bill Barr to hold a news conference. Never happened, and there were no sources!

In other news, Trump is now calling for the end of the “impeachment hoax” after the coup tweets from the so-called whistleblower’s attorney emerged:
Based on the information released last night about the Fake Whistleblowers attorney, the Impeachment Hoax should be ended IMMEDIATELY! There is no case, except against the other side!
