Turns out the suspicious mail bomb sent to Debbie Wasserman Schultz WAS NOT sent to her….

As we reported earlier today Debbie Wasserman Schultz was sent one of the suspicious pipe bombs via the mail and her office was evacuated as police dealt with the situation.

Well it turns out, according to NBC News, that the bomb wasn’t originally sent to DWS. It was actually sent to Eric Holder:

Suspicious package that was mailed to Eric Holder was sent to wrong address, triggering its return to the bogus return address listed as Florida office for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, according to law enforcement officials.

Now I don’t want to suggest DWS wasn’t targeted, because with her name being on the package it clearly went to her when it failed it’s first destination. And who knows, maybe that’s what the perpetrator intended. Or maybe they screwed up the address and it went to her as a backup plan. Or maybe it was never intended to go to her at all. Hard to say at this point.
