Use of force against nurse was ‘NOT NECESSARY,’ ‘NOT JUSTIFIED’ says apologetic mayor

The mayor of Salt Lake City pretty much feels about the arrest of that nurse the same way everyone else does. While the police chief was more careful to say they need to wait out the investigation, the mayor was much more apologetic.

At about the 7 minute mark she admits that the use of force against the nurse was not necessary:

The mayor keeps saying, “we are very apologetic,” while the chief keeps saying, “trust in the process.”

The police chief also says that the investigation WILL include the police officers who were standing around and didn’t do anything about the arrest.

At about the 12 minute mark she says his actions were not justified, and the incident was “completely unacceptable.”

This was from Friday, and Saturday it was announced that two of the policemen involved were placed on leave, pending the investigation.
