WATCH: Gov DeSantis says he’s not going to let Biden “regime” get away with creating a ‘Ministry of Truth’ – [FULL VIDEO]

Earlier this week we told you about Biden’s new Disinformation Governance Board that they’ve created to silence so-called ‘misinformation and disinformation’, especially when it comes to elections.

This morning Governor DeSantis weighed in on this, saying Biden is essentially creating a ‘Ministry of Truth’ and that he’s not going to let Biden get away with it, that Florida will be fighting back against this.

Here’s a longer and better version (about 5 minutes), where DeSantis explains what the Biden administration’s true intent is with this board and discusses it in the larger context of free speech. He also mentions how Elon Musk has just taken away the left’s ability to control the narrative and easily censor people on Twitter.

It’s cued up to just after the one minute mark:

DeSantis argues that what the Biden administration wants to do is “put out false narratives without people being able to speak out and fight back.”

He continues: “They want to say things like ‘Russia collusion and perpetuate hoaxes and have people like us be silenced. They want to be able to advocate for COVID lockdowns. They want to be able to advocate for school closures, things that are not supported by the evidence. But then when you speak out, they want to stifle dissent. And so we reject this bureau in the state of Florida.”

DeSantis suggested he believes in the right of Americans to speak out against their government, saying “We believe it is essential that individual Floridians and Americans are able to speak out against false narratives trying to be jammed down our throats by this regime.”

DeSantis also points out that instead of the Biden administration trying to do better with their policies and turn things around, which have clearly been going in a bad direction, they are just trying to shut their critics up:

Let’s get real here. Let’s start dealing with issues that people care about… You know, when you’re not doing well, there’s two ways to do it. You can try to do better so that maybe people will like what you’re doing better. Of you can try and shut up everybody who is criticizing your bad policies. It seems like they’re trying to do the latter. They want to stifle dissent.

He’s exactly right. Biden isn’t going to change his terrible policies, so the next step is to silence dissent. That’s what Erdogan did in Turkey by taking over opposition media outlets and arresting journalists. If this disinformation board is allowed to continue unabated, the same things could easily happen here.
