As many suspected, el Presidente Trump didn’t really mean to say that his executive order on immigration would contain “amnesty.” From Reuters:
U.S. President Donald Trump’s planned executive order on immigration will not include amnesty for migrants who are in the United States illegally but arrived in the country as children, a White House spokesman said on Friday.
“This does not include amnesty,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said in a statement, after Trump said in a television interview his planned order would include a road to citizenship for such immigrants, known as “Dreamers.”

Uhm… so he is willing to give illegal alien DACA “dreamers” citizenship, but it’s not in his executive order. Which is specifically what he said when he made that statement on Friday – he literally said a pathway to citizenship would be in his executive order.
Either way, this statement means that he IS willing to amnesty dreamers, he just wants to make a deal with Democrats in Congress, which would likely concessions for immigration enforcement. On the other hand, IF he gets a deal from Congress, that means the amnesty for Dreamers will be enshrined in the law forever, and not just an executive order that can be overturned.
