Jen Psaki doesn’t really get tough questions, which is why it’s so lame how often they rave about how good she is at dealing with tough questions. Also because when she does get the rare one (usually from Doocy) her reaction is to shut it down or lie or mock or all three.
Today she got hit with a couple of DOOZIES (NOT just from Doocy) that probably caught her off guard as much as it caught the rest of us. Especially considering it started with a CBS reporter: Steve Portnoy.
The topic is Biden saying that his eviction deal is illegal but idga*.
FANTASTIC question from @CBSNewsRadio's @StevenPortnoy about the legality of extending the eviction moratorium: "What's the White House's message, then, to Americans who…are now disappointed the President is signaling that he doesn't respect the rule of law." pic.twitter.com/ymci5wkWVl

More Portnoy: "He speaks often about democracy versus autocracy. He's issuing or overseeing this order from the CDC in the face of doubts about its constitutionality…He didn't call Congress back. He asked Congress to act. It didn't How do you square all that?" pic.twitter.com/fOXZxuoeST

And a follow-up from Wegmann.
Though to no avail, the great @PhilipWegmann followed up on its legality: "What was the moment that the President became certain that he was on solid, legal standing to move forward with this extension and what was the…specific legal argument that…changed his mind?" pic.twitter.com/K0LAXdKyhg

Her dishonesty is astonishing. Not that she would be so dishonest but that she would do such a bad job at it. You’d think practice makes perfect you know?
