Rudy Giuliani finally found a Trump exaggeration that even he couldn’t defend.
President Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said that he disagrees with Trump’s claim that the Justice Department’s internal report on the handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe “totally exonerates” him.
“Well, I don’t think it exonerates him,” Giuliani said in an interview with ABC News late Saturday.
“In some respects, it dramatically supports his position … that the people who conducted the Hillary probe who were extreme partisan for Hillary and against Trump,” he continued.
Of course, Trump had said that the report completely “exonerated” him, and very few of his sycophants have defended that claim. It does substantively support the position that there was some bias at the FBI. But the report falls short of saying the bias changed any conclusions made at the bureau.
I noticed that Alan Dershowitz did something very similar to Giuliani did here – when the suckups at Fox and Friends tried to get him to conclude the IG report had proven a dark conspiracy against the president, he instead said that it provided proof that there was no obstruction of justice when Trump fired Comey….
