Since the coup attempt in NATO Turkey on July 15th, Erdogan has been on the warpath to purge all elements of Fethullah Gulen from his country.
It begin with the military and police, but Erdogan quickly extended it into education, finance, news, and other areas. Close to 70,000 people working in state institutions have been dismissed.
Erdogan even suspended fundamental rights and freedoms, via a State of Emergency, to expedite this purge. This state of emergency is said to also allow him to rule by decree.
Well as of today, we now see that Erdogan’s purge has hit the country’s favorite sport:
