If you wonder about ‘Defund the Police’ and Antifa, don’t think Harlem, think Whole Foods

These two videos are just about perfect for illustrating and illuminating what we’ve been talking about off-and-on this weekend here at the Scoop: Liberal progressive cancel culture socialists trying to appropriate the rage of minority American communities for their own ends.

Now, I get some negative comments from folks here, now and then, when I share a video from militant atheist leftist snob Bill Maher. But I’ve said before and I’ll say again, his status as one of them only ADDS to the value of rants like this one. And this one is a dang beauty.

“New rule: Black people have to demand that white people stop culturally appropriating how mad they are about racism,” Maher says in this bit. He gives the example of the dumb white liberal woman Libby Schaaf, mayor of Oakland, who went on a crusade against nooses that weren’t nooses and were instead something put up for the kids of a neighborhood by a black man just trying to do something nice.

There’s a lot more, too. He goes AFTER the cancel people, the fact that white people are afraid to say anything at all because it might be taken wrong, and then get blasted for not saying anything anyway, and more.

“You want to be a good ally, but not too good or you’re being a ‘white savior.’ Use your voice, but don’t make it about yourself! But speak up! Unless it’s your time to just listen. And then silence is violence, even though sometimes silence just means someone works two jobs and has three kids. They have baby food on their shirt, not hate in their heart.”

I don’t care who you are that’s a great point.

This other video, which we posted last week is too darn perfect not to share again. And I can’t resist adding my own commentary so here it is ICYMI.

In it, the question asked by Daily Wire’s Ami Horowitz is whether getting rid of cops is a hot plan. Bet y’all can guess how thinks it is and who thinks it really ain’t. Yeup you guessed it!

When asked about how people feel in “East Harlem” about the police, a respondent featured in the video says that he believes the people would feel the same as he does, if not more so.

Horowitz goes to Harlem to find out.

How you like them apples, Big Apple?

But don’t let the humorous cluelessness fool you, it’s an important topic. You saw earlier that a Black Lives Matter protest against a statue in Raleigh was missing something.

The fact of the matter is that the privileged millennial progressives who are the bulk of “antifa” are just as clueless (or disinterested) as the granola cruncher above about what any given community of actual American citizens living their lives really want and need out of government and one another.

There’s a lot of bad stuff going down lately. But who is really pushing the cart?

If you’re thinking about unrest, sometimes instead of Harlem, you gotta think Whole Foods. Or Starbucks. Or the Apple Store. You get the idea.
